NOVA2LIBS4fusion

Novel approach to laser induced breakdown spectroscopy diagnostics of fusion reactor plasma facing components: is natural sciences research project funded by the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia. We are a 8-person team set to improve the analytical performance of LIBS, which aims to enable its efficient application for in situ diagnostics of PFCs. The expected result is the construction and characterization of a novel LIBS system, capable of sensitive, in-situ detection of both heavy and light elements, and depth profiling of hydrogen isotope content in reactor wall material, with substantially improved analytical figures of merit, compared to currently available analytical techniques.
